For producers with on-farm events, we have created a series of signs educating visitors about common conservation practices.

River Friendly Farm Certified producers will be promoted on the website and through various other social media platforms. 

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

You may apply at any time of year. It typically takes between two and six months to complete the certification process. 

 

To begin the certification process, simply request a copy of the River Friendly Farm Application . If you have any questions, a member of our staff can assist you.  After you complete the application, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a site visit.   Site visits are designed to verify the information provided in the application form and usually take less than three hours. 

 

All farms are evaluated based on the following criteria:

 

  • Protecting and Promoting Soil Health

  • Nutrient Management

  • Pest Management

  • Farmstead Management

  • Protection of Water Quality

Certification is currently only being offered to farms in northern and central New Jersey. 

 

COST AND FEES

River Friendly Farm Certification costs $200 per year.  However, thanks to generous grant funding, we can offer the certification for free to producers within areas of northern and central New Jersey. Please reach out to see if you are within one of these areas.
