New Jersey's 19th River-Friendly Farm Certifications were awarded to Lori and Bill Gold of CedarCroft Farm, in Hardwick Township. Lori and Bill Gold of CedarCroft Farm are long time stewards of the land and of their community.
Their 30-acre farm consists of forest, wetlands, streams and a pond. The Golds manage their woodlot as a tree farm, selectively cutting trees for forest health, according to their Forest Management Plan. The stream running through their property flows into Blair Creek and then to the Paulins Kill River. Keeping the property wooded and the stream well buffered lowers the temperature of the stream and dramatically decreases the impact of erosion on the Paulins Kill watershed.
